It's a step in the right direction

Just finished this. A local cafe will be doing a promo for Otto and Anna, and this will go up in said cafe, in poster form;

Here're the thumbnails I drew up for my boss to choose from (the finished product evolved from 2).

Aaaaand because we all love a parcel of blackmail fodder . . .

DON'T MAKE ME GO CANADIAN ON YOU, BUB. Hope everyone else's Hallowe'en was as fun as mine was!

Jack be nimble

We're getting closer and closer to my favourite holiday! Do take care . . . On the night of the 31st, there will be a short, skinny Wolverine with a bad Scottish accent running round, poking people with duct-tape claws.

. . . No, I don't have plans to grow up any time soon, why do you ask?

Until then;

HAPPY HALLOWE'EN!

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

If I need a rush, I get out of a chair when I'm not expecting it.

I'm told we will at last, be launching very soon! Keep your fingers crossed for us, won't you?

In the meantime, have a froopy-big post of various stuff (and bits of stuff) I've been working on for the Otto and Anna project;

The answer, my friend . . .

Oh, poo and trousers! (though hopefully not in the same context, that would be unpleasant). Our launch date was pushed back. Blah. Well, when I get an idea as to when we will definitely be launching, I will definitely post it here. Definitely.

In the mean time, here's something a little different. A birthday pressie for my dear Bonnie. They're characters from the novel she's written. Horray!

Launch dates . . . Aren't a bit like lunch dates. Except for the spelling, kind of.

More graphics for the Otto and Anna website;

Closer and closer

Oh my Sainted trousers, our launch date is coming up in NINE DAYS! Pardon me whilst I perform a Kermit-flail (TM).

In the mean time . . . A duly appropriate graphic I designed for the launch email;

Moving right along

One of four e-cards I'm illustrating for the Otto and Anna website;

And now for something completely Dickens.

Life has been chaotic . . . Time for an update.

Something non-work related;

Photobucket

I've had to take it easy, owing to having undergone surgery. In the meantime, I've been rewatching the 2002 film, Nicholas Nickleby, one of my very favourites. In times like these, I think we can all appreciate a story like the one in this film, and I'm partial to friendship stories. So, here's a quick illo of Nicholas and Smike, an orphaned young man and the abused, crippled youth he takes under his wing. They're on a road to . . . the future! Whatever it may bring.

Doodled whilst in my bed of pain, ha ha, given a quick colour job today, my first day back at my laptop! Hurrah!

It's a really beautiful (and underrated) film. Trailer's here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVtU5Szhwko

More soon. Sorry, I've been swamped with . . . non-art related things as of late! Ack! That will change soon, if I have anything to say about it!

The Whole Kit and Kaboodle

Something more for the Otto and Anna website; My boss wants artist's renderings of the various Adventure Kits and what comes in them. Starting out, I wasn't entirely clear as to every exact detail of what was going in and what it would look like. In the mean time, I made a list of everything I could think of offhand that was in them and sketched from those lists (here is Russia, for example);

Photobucket

. . . I met with my boss the next day to iron everything out, and have since made revised drawings of the kits and their contents;

The final illustrations will be in colour once they go up on the website.
