Been more than a wee while since I've posted. Sorry about that . . .

As of, er, June-ish, SemperFun (the company behind Otto And Anna) went under and I was left without my job. Since then, I've become a jaunty Cat Slave at my local S.P.C.A.

It's long, hard and frequently disgusting work, but I have to say, I actually really love it. I've grown so close to the kitties I take care of and have come to love them dearly. Which is frankly blummen' BIZARRE because I used to hate cats, ha ha.

At any rate, it bears mentioning that I have been doing a LOT of art during this time, but they're all really cumbersome projects that I don't feel ready to post in part just yet. Soon, though! One of the three projects is nearing completion and I hope to have it presentable by the end of the year at the very latest.

In the mean time, here are a few very quick doodles . . .

Given what you (might have) read above, it should come as no surprise that I have gotten in the habit of bringing work home with me, hee hee . . .

My very first foster, named Thumbelina:

We are very short on cage space at the shelter, and kittens can not legally be adopted till they are eight weeks of age anyway, so we frequently foster out the wee, wee bitty ones till they are of age. This ickle ginger was only three and a half weeks old when I brought her home . . . Of course, her size belied her energy. She later came to be nicknamed 'Nom-belina' on account of her habit of nipping at feet.

My current foster, Zippy:

Zippy had one foot (two paws?) in the euth room door, but I managed to find him a home with Sara, who has been kind enough to give him a second chance. I'm just holding onto him until she can come to get him. He's an ENORMOUS longhaired manx and the most docile, gentle cat I've yet encountered. He also had horrific mats in his fur, so we had to shave him down. He's literally half the cat he used to be.

Aaaand my boys, Zekiel and Ru:

These two started as fosters, but they'll be mine for good in a few days. Ru is a black tuxedo bobtail and Zekiel is a lynx-point siamese bobtail. They came in together and had to go home together. Their personalities compliment eachother so well, it's really no surprise. Ru is a bouncy goofball with giant, owly yellow eyes that just staaaare up at me. When I come home from work he greets me by running at me full-tilt, galloping clear up my body and throwing his arms round my neck so he can lick my face. Zeke, on the other hand, is a far more lax and dignified gentleman, though he is an undeniable cuddlebug and will often sleep curled up against my chest when I go to bed, purring away. I really could not have imagined finding a more perfect pair of pets for myself. I absolutely adore them. I'm also beginning to think I am doomed to accumulate cats with varying degrees of taillessness, ha ha.

So yes, that's it for now. More art is on the way soon, I promise. Dry Spell? Pah! NO MORE, say I.

Otto and Anna feed a meter in historic Downtown Annapolis. You'll notice that there is no car in the parking space . . . Well, there is an explanation for that. Annapolis has come to be called 'ticket town' in some circles. Meter men/maids have been know to literally wait by cars wherein the meter has only a short time left, and slap a ticket on the windshield with half of a second of the meter's expiry.

Often when I drive downtown, I find myself upon the serendipity of a good parking space with a substantial amount of time left on the meter from the previous occupant. Thus, if I have a bit of change in my pocket and I notice another promising space awaiting a guest, I like to pay it forward (and yes, I do know this will be utilised because this is a major tourist point and people are constantly coming and going.)

And if you want to watch me paint it . . .

Today, my boss and I met with two ladies who work for a local news publication, Chesapeake Family. Many years ago, Chesapeake Family did a feature about an art show my parents and I were putting up in a local cafe. My picture was on the front cover of the November 1997 issue. I was eleven years old at the time . . .

. . . The overalls were permissable enough for a child of that age, but I think the mullet has to be seen to be believed.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF YOU LOVELY PETALS.

I made this wee statuette in reference to the story of the Goddess, Eostre. It is often said that today's Easter holiday owes a great deal to this Pagan Goddess of Spring, who saved an injured bird by changing it into a rabbit. Every year round spring, however, the rabbit would then remember that it was a bird, and it would lay eggs. Hence, we get the Easter Bunny and Easter eggs.

Now, this story is a topic of debate, just about everyone I've heard it from/asked about it has told me something different. Either way, it's a fun idea and so we get . . .

BUNNYGRIFFS! . . . Come to think on it, I want to declare my responsibility for coining that term right now. I can not be certain the concept is my own to claim, but I'm going slap my hands down on this tabletop and say 'Bunnygriffs in name, copyright Fala Lee Hayes, 2010". Hurrah! . . . Or would it be more cute spelt 'Bunnigriffs'? Arararararrr.

Well, it's midnight on the 9th of March and I've been twenty four years old all day. Er, horray? Possibly?

More importantly, I've got a backlog of arts to be posted. Here we go!

Sketches for a grandmother character in an upcoming Otto and Anna venture;

Remember that big bowl of paper cranes a few posts back? I made them into Valentines. I made a tonne and sent out . . . just under a tonne. Here are the last three stragglers of the bunch;

Here's the last two pieces I did for Fiery Coloured;

For the 'Cute and Terrifying' challenge, in which we were to pick something and draw it as simperingly cute as possible, then take the same thing and draw it as nasty and grotesque as possible;

And for the "X" challenge, I designed a tic tac toe board . . . With X-Men playing pieces. Anyone who knows me saw that coming from lightyears away, he he.

The pieces are made of shrinkydink plastic with felt X's and O's glued to the back. 'X' pieces are X-Men, naturally, and the 'O' pieces are members of the Brotherhood team. My printer was low on every ink but magenta, so the final colours were a bit of an accident, but I think they actually match the board rather nicely as is.

Hallo, petals. I realise you lot are positively SPARKING with concern, so I shall begin by saying that I did, in fact, NOT die. The trip back from Kentucky was snowy, but otherwise, smooth sailing. We are on the proverbial roll, people.

Greetings from the Chicken State! Indeed, we have, at last, made in to Kentucky. The drive was long and the snow, relentless. But it has been nothing if not productive. Wish me luck on surviving the trip home, won't you?

In the mean time, I have things I can post . . .

I started up a joint blog with Sara, in which we will take turns giving each other weekly challenges to be answered in art form. Since I am on such an Oscar Wilde kick as of late, I declared that our very first challenge be . . . Oscar Wilde (fancy that).

Here's what I came up with;

Anyone who knows anything about Mr. Wilde, himself, will find this picture pretty self-explanatory. For those unfamiliar, I shall supply these Wildean maxims;

In about twelve hours, my boss and I shall be driving out to Louisville, Kentucky for a meeting to do with websiteish things. In the meantime . . .

I caught a bit of Big Cat Diary" on Animal Planet this morning. Today's episode featured a seven-week-old cheetah cub, called "Toto" whom I simply had to sketch. He was such a wee rock star, with that fluffy mass of downy fur and that bold, devil-may-care attitude. The host of the programme could not stop going on about how precious and tiny Toto was. Really, I can not say as I blame him!

Quick marker sketch. Now, I have company coming round tonight, so I have to go make some samosas at cheetah-speed. Cheerio!

This was a fun one . . . Poster design!

In the story accompanying the Japanese adventure kit, Anna invents a robot specifically progammed to fold origami. The robot works, but goes haywire and winds up folding Obo and Ini into a two-headed paper monster. The kit includes a poster. I looked to a lot of old Godzilla posters for inspiration on this.

Well, my best mate Carlea is home for the hols, and with that comes the tradition of yet another Carlea/Fala collaberation!

So far, our story takes place in the early 1900's in the Louisiana Teche. Zekiel Arcenaux is mourning the recent loss of his twin brother, which leads him to explore the services of a travelling medium named Aveline. This, in turn, leads to a strange journey into the supernatural world within the bayou, to uncover the mysteries surrounding the bizarre death of Zekiel's brother.

Stuff inspired by our writings thus far;

Wow, it's already a new year. I think we all can agree that 2009 was a big year for milestones.

I could really stand to improve upon my speed-doodling, so here are a few of my personal 2009 milstones in speed-doodle form:

10. Worked a job at college;

9. Turned 23 years old (hoy, it counts! I've never done it before, right? And I won't be doing it again, either, heh)

8. Graduated from college;

7. Got a NEW job;

6. Bought my first car . . .

5. . . . learned how to drive it . . .

. . . Er, I have the sense of direction of a carousel horse.

4. And got my driver's licence . . .

. . . My navigation skills have improved, by now. A bit.

3. Had surgery . . .

2. I had never been to a funeral in my life. This year, I attended three funerals within the span of three weeks;

My grandmother (she loved owls, which was appropriate, since we often looked to her, as the matriarch, for Athena-like wisdom)

My great-uncle, who was buried with full honours at Arlington Cemetery

My former schoolmate, who played the cello, had a biting literary wit, and died quite unexpectedly at the age of 23.

Two of my uncles also passed this year, as well, but I was not present at their funerals.

. . . Additionally, I lost two beloved pets;

1. . . . And welcomed a new pet into my life.

0. And I finally had my name legally changed.

HONOURARY MILESTONES:

- I've always fantasised about having a mohawk, and this year, I finally did it (but you can see it in all of the pictures, here, so I didn't think it needed another one)
- I'm moving out of my parent's house. I'm not quite finished, so that is why it is an "honourary" milestone. Still fairly big, though.
- Hosted my first Burns' Supper (for Scots, this is a fairly big deal)
- Went to New York for the first time.

HAPPY 2010, everyone. Auld Lang Syne and all that jazz!

A few hours ago, my dear doggie passed away. It happened so suddenly . . . I can only hope that this means he did not suffer.

I called him 'Niisan' because it is a Japanese word for 'brother', and considering I am an only child, he really was something of a sibling to me. Thank you for sharing your thirteen years with me, my brother. I love you so very, very much.

Crikey, I can't believe we're already into December. This year has been quite an eventful one . . . or is that just me?

Anyhoo, the official launch date for Otto and Anna is now 1st February, 2010, and my boss has kicked things up a notch. We're going to be releasing eight new Adventure Kits instead of the initial four, and I've got to say, I'm super excited ^_^ One of them deals with planting flowers, and we've done the whole thing in a sort of art deco/fruit crate art/poster style.

Here're some designs I came up for the seed packets that will be included in the kit;

The original plan was to have a poster in the kit, but we have since decided against that. However, my boss liked some of the elements in my designs for the posters, and he wanted to encorperate them into the design for the seed packets.

Life has been chaotic . . . Time for an update.

Something non-work related;

I've had to take it easy, owing to having undergone surgery. In the meantime, I've been rewatching the 2002 film, Nicholas Nickleby, one of my very favourites. In times like these, I think we can all appreciate a story like the one in this film, and I'm partial to friendship stories. So, here's a quick illo of Nicholas and Smike, an orphaned young man and the abused, crippled youth he takes under his wing. They're on a road to . . . the future! Whatever it may bring.

Doodled whilst in my bed of pain, ha ha, given a quick colour job today, my first day back at my laptop! Hurrah!

The Whole Kit and Kaboodle

Something more for the Otto and Anna website; My boss wants artist's renderings of the various Adventure Kits and what comes in them. Starting out, I wasn't entirely clear as to every exact detail of what was going in and what it would look like. In the mean time, I made a list of everything I could think of offhand that was in them and sketched from those lists (here is Russia, for example);

Heh, Otto and Anna are fixing to take over this blog, aren't they? Well, this is likely due to the fact that I am working on them pretty much nonstop. I've barely even posted a sliver of a smidgeon of a bit of a fraction of all that I have done involving them O_O

Only somewhat unrelated, I finally updated VEGtotheTABLE. I'd really like to get the proverbial ball rolling with that thing over the summer, now that I'm not playing Atlas with schoolwork. Heh, now it's just Work!work, driving lessons, caring for my animals and yoga. Whooooo!

I loved that little guy so much. He always put a smile on my face, meanwhile he was dying a slow, painful death and I didn't even fully realise it up till a few days before he finally passed. By then, it was, apparently, too late.

It is now 7.34 AM. I have officially been in the labs for twelve hours. I'm running on a grand total of seven hours of sleep for the past three days, none of which happened during the aforementioned past twelve.

Go me! I have not even begun to hallucinate yet! The dancing, magenta toilet on the ceiling says so.

At any rate, my computer decided it really and truly hates me, so I have to come to the labs to hopefully finish my thesis. Wow. I feel like I'm back in CA already. Fffffffffun.

So yes, computer troubles = reason for lack of frequent updates. But as I am currently sat before a computer that doesn't Nelson-laugh at me every time I try to do something constructive with it . . . Update!

Mmmyep. The dog's name, "Niisan" is a Japanese word for "brother." The snake, Pinstripe, does, indeed have a pistripe, though you can't see it in the picture (it's a long, white line which runs all the way down his back). And lastly, yes, the betta fish is named "Fuzzy Elf." The blue betta fish, even. Points to you if you get that reference ::snick::

Georgie girl!

Whoo! The mockup/dummy book for my children's book, Georgie and the Unicorn got into Best of Ringling!

And as it happens, I'm currently at work on a certain part of my thesis . . . It's something a bit different than anything else I've posted on this blog. So far, so good and I'm having a good time with it ^_^

People in my Illustration class have been doing such nifty things with cloth and clay, I was inspired. I used to make dolls all the time . . . Why not revisit it? asked me of myself.

So!

The head, hands and feet are made of Sculpey with foilforms inside. After I baked them in the oven, I started mapping out the cloth bits (arms, legs, torso). You can barely see it on the cloth, but the pins and pencil lines are there!

The the feet, hands and head are then attached to a wire armature for the body, which is then softened and padded with pipecleaners.
. . . Also, don't you just love my sewing kit box? I'm a grown adult, I swear!
And is that my collar in the background? Blimey, I wonder if I realised I wasn't wearing that at the time. I usually feel downright naked without that thing!

So, since the fabric portion of the doll is white, I laid down a white base over the clay parts, so as to maintain consistency in her skintones. Aaaand since Georgie is a redhead, I gave her an orangey-red hairline and eyebrows.

And what is a hairline with no actual hair? It's . . . well, rather stupidly redundant, actually. So, yes! Hair time!
Heh, I ended up cutting snips off of my wig from my Megacon costume . . .

Except for the part where, duh, plastic doesn't asorb dye! Whoo! What sublte brilliance! Soooo, blonde it is. I'll have to colour it some other way.

So yes, here is the start of Georgie's hair. Also, the cloth body has been sewn and attached. Man, this shot is sort of . . . mind-bendy. From this angle, Georgie's feet look like they're close to the same size as mine O_O

Aaand now, approx. seven hours and a tube and a half of Krazy Glue later, Georgie has a full head of hair . . . And what a head of hair it is. Very . . . 80's-chic :P That'll be fun to style later. Plus, I've still got to make it all gingery.

I also gave her some pupils for the time being, because frankly, she was sort of scary without them, heh.

Neurgh. I officially have a love-hate relationship with ebony pencils.

HARBINGER OF DOOM: "Fala, do not sharpen that pencil with that dull, dull sharpener which happens to be the only sharpener you have. It will cause the lead to crack all the way down throughout the inside of the pencil."

ME: "Pftpftpftpft, what do you know? There's nothing wrong with this sharpener or the ebony pencil. I have sharpened many an ebony pencil at many a time. You might say I am a veteran in that very experience. I could sharpen an ebony pencil blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back and using only my teeth."

HARBINGER OF DOOM: "Now there's a dying art."

ME: "Watch, see? Sharpen sharpen sharpen, ha ha! Here we come a'sharpening among the pencils so-"

Seeing as I have just sharpened my last ebony pencil to death and I lack the funds to buy more, I will be taking the time to do the colouring portion of my thesis till I find myself able to afford both more pencils AND a new sharpener. Er yes, sorry. I love that song (the Marcels, not Elvis, nerks!). And this recent assignment and the result thereof reminded of it.

It's very much (if not grossly and utterly entirely) based on a poem I wrote, entitled "Le Chanson D'un Loup-Garou," meaning 'The Song Of A Werewolf' in English (et oui, c'est un poeme en Francais, bien sur.). I love werewolves and I wanted to lend their lore a happier turn. Mayhap I shall post the storyboards/animatic I made of the aforementioned poem. Mayhap, mayhap.

Blah. This thing is finally done! My pal, Nic, asked me to colour the cover of a comic he is doing work for (his girlfriend drew it, he did the flat colours and sent it to me to do the rest). I happily obliged. However, after the fact, I can safely say that if I never have to colour and render a five-headed dragon again, it shall be too soon.

The future, the distant future (with a side of vegetables!)

So, first something incredibly off-topic . . .

For anyone who might be interested, I have created a second blog in addition to this one on healthy vegan eating on a student budget (it is not oft that you see all three of those adjectives in one sentence, eh?). As you may or probably do not know, it is no meegly task eating vegan as a stoo-dent. Lumme, it's hard just eating healthy when you're a stoo-dent on a shoo-string budget. So yes, even the carnivores might get a few useful tidbits out of this. Go and have a look, you know you want to.

And now for something completely relevant.

Over winter holiday, my best friend Carlea and I started onto yet another of our collaborative efforts in story writing. This one was a film-noir style murder mystery, set in the year 2332, during a futuristic version of the Prohibition. In one scene, Klausz, a rookie cop, suspects his work partner of treachery. Said work partner is a veteran detective with cyborg appendages, known as Pascale. Pascale's secret laboratory is secured with a palm pad which scans one's hand before granting access. In order to enter his lab, Klausz knocks Pascale unconscious and severs the detective's cyborg arm so that he might take it wih him and use that hand to gain access to the lab.

And here are some character sheets I drew up quite hastily whilst in the lobby of the oral surgeons', waiting to have my wisdom teeth yanked out.

Brightest and Best

So, how was everyone's holiday? Mine was full of family visits, food, doctor's appointments, television, being cold, drinking soy eggnog (aka "Snog"), singing Auld Lang Syne, and getting my wisdom teeth yanked out. Hurrah! Now that my face does not bear quite such a striking resemblance to that of a freshly laden hamster, I'll post and show you lot some of what I was up to whilst I was away.

This was my Christmas gift to my parents. I made the figures in Sculpey clay, then painted them with acrylics. The boxes and cardboard all came from our recycling bin and were painted or papered over.

To give an idea of the scale;

I also made a segmented box to store everything in and drew a legend on the lid to show which compartments the figurines go into;

ME: Fabulous. Anything else I should know?

HARBINGER OF DOOM: You have major self esteem issues and your lack of confidence is one heck of an Achilles heel.

ME: May I ask how telling me my self-esteem and confidence are bumly is supposed to help my self esteem and confidence?

La la la, I have been wrestling with computers and portfolios for the past week and am now quite knackered as a result. Winter holiday will provide for some much needed time to breathe, rest and generally function as a human being, rather than a confuddled-by-work art stoodent. Seriously, my post-computersickness, post-Dreamworks brain feels like something that flew into a window and is now sliding down the pane.

Oh, for the love of trousers . . . Every time I think I've caught everything up, some forgotten assignment comes slithering out of the woodwork (read: swiss cheese) of my long-term memory and proceeds to tap me on the shoulder in all its stealthy harbinger-of-doomness.

Case in point occuring today;

ME: Hang on a sec! I'm trying to watch Total Drama Island and put on my socks at the same time. No small task, and one which requires my utmost concentration.

H.O.D: Sure, I can wait a bit.

ME: Thanks . . . ::puts socks on, pauses episode, loves Veoh for a moment:: . . . Right then, you were saying?

H.O.D: So, yer. Your senior portrait is due in four days.

ME: Pftpftpftpftpft! Aw, mosey along with your leg-pulling. Go have tea with a politician.

H.O.D: No really, you have four days to complete an entire portrait which is to represent you and everything your stand for on your graduating class's poster and for countless years to come.

ME: That's cobblers, it's not due till the 5th of December.

H.O.D: Which is in four days.

ME: It's not due till that Friday which is quite a ways off.

H.O.D: Yes, four whole days off.

ME: . . . You're really serious? You are not in any way having me on, taking the mick, alluding to a certain villian played by Heath Ledger, or otherwise not being serious?

H.O.D: Four days, bub. You'd best get started.

ME: Is there time for me to step in front of a bus?

H.O.D: Well, four days does seem like a pretty sufficient amount of time when one considers the buses run every thirty minutes, doesn't it?

Well, you get the idea at any rate. So yes, colour me pretty wigged for a good few hours (probably about eight potential bus encounters' worth). However, I did manage to come up with a sketch during class, which I managed to flesh out into a finished piece tonight;

I was just going to leave it in black and white. Flatmate Kelly, however, suggested I try adding some colour. Mad props to her for that one, because I wouldn't have done it otherwise and I actually like the colour version rather more than the first;

So yes. That much is done. Crisis averted, meltdown prevented, order in the universe restored.

Crikey O'Reilly, I didn't mean to go this long without posting. At any rate, I have done loads since the last one . . . The dummy book for Georgie And The Unicorn is now complete and will hopefully be sent round to publishers very soon.

Buzz Buzz, Baa Baa . . . Book Book?

There's a dead bee in our kitchen light. Poor thing flew in here and sort of ghosted about the flat till he climbed into the light casing and got stuck there. Sad -_-

Did this quickly today, having found myself with a few hours in which I had the option of Doing Art Not Neccessarily Related To My Thesis. I've been watching Black Books a tadge obsessively over the past week or so, and this came of it;

This is, of course, based on that bit in the episode entitled "Grapes of Wrath," in which Manny discovers the shiatsu machine. I was rewatching it and simply had to draw it.

Aaaand i had time to do this because, as of today, I am finished with all of the spots/sketches for my children's book! Huzzah! Just need to deftly insert the final additions into the dummy book and I am ready to send this puppy off to the publisher. In the meantime, here's a few of those last little sketches.

Behold . . . WEIRD AND WONDERFUL SHEEP! (I'm Scottish. If this comes as a surprise, then you are a sad sack of poo)

And a bit of info about each one;

RAMBOUILLET: In 1786, King Louis XVI received a flock of Merino sheep from the King of Spain and developed the new breed exclusively on his own Rambouillet estate, with many years passing before a single animal left it.

RACKA: This Hungarian breed's straight, spiral-shaped horns are unique among sheep and can grow to a length of up of to two feet.

LONK: The name of this sheep is a variation on the word "Lanky." It is a very durable breed, but thrives in only two counties in Northern England.

HEBRIDEAN: When the Vikings arrived in Scotland, they brought their sheep with them, and this breed came about. They have two to four horns, though the odd three-horned specimen is not unheard of.

ALTAI ARGALI: Hailing from the mountainous regions of central Asia, this breed has the largest and heaviest horns of any kind of sheep.

MANX LOAGHTAN: Indigenous to the Isle of Man, this sheep can have up to six horns. The word "Loaghtan" means "mouse-brown," and this breed was developed both for its wool of that colour, and for its meat (it is considered a delicacy and is raised for meat on only two farms).

. . . And yes, all of these sheep are actually real. Wiki them if you think I'm telling porky pies.

Well! Indeed.

As of yesterday, I am the week-end Salad God at the school cafeteria. It's nothing fabulous, but it'll put a few quid in my pocket and hopefully deter me from continually sponging off of my poor parents. So yer, if you're a Ringlinger popping in for brekkie or supper on Saturday/Sunday and you see a short, doofy kid attempting to discreetly do yoga behind the hotplate, do say hello ^_^

At any rate, the point of this post is to say that now, due to the fact that I now have a seventeen hour work week-end, I really have had precious little time for art (there were more sketches for the children's book scratched out between my shifts and before sleep, but even those I have not had time to scan in O_O;) I shall need to be working round that . . . As it happens, I'm the computer labs right now, printing out my portfolio before my 4.00 PM shift. I'm still in my uniform, even O_O Crikey O'Reilly, this think makes me look like a fourteen-year-old cul de sac kid who is trying to bring bin liners into fashion O_O

I'm posting old art because of the whole portfolio-putting-togethery thing. Sorry to you lot who are seeing this twice;

Inspired by one of my very favourite films, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Last year, I was walking with Sara on the beach and we happened upon an injured seagull. He wasn't bleeding and nothing looked broken, but for some reason, he could not seem to lift himsel fup off of the sand, and simply thrashed about with his wings when we got too close. A few months later, we were at the beach again, and happened upon another seagull, this time very plainly hurt with a badly bleeding wing. When we came near, he sort of shuffled away from us as best we could. Strangely enough, he was heading for the water. We decided that if he was stil there by the time we were done with our walk, we would pick up and take him away. However, when we did return, we found him bobbing about in the shallows, dead. It was almost as if he did it on purpose, like he somehow knew what we were planning and did not want to be saved. . . . Which sounds utterly ridiculous, I know, but it still sort of haunted me.

So, first post, eh? Let's hope it's a good one, what with how impressions go and such . . .

Och aye, I'm Fala Lee. I spend most of my waking hours drawing, writing and drinking tea (though the non-waking hours apply to that last one as well, on occasion . . . Hoy, some people sleepwalk, don't they? Myself, I'm not beyond the occasional sleepteadrinking excursion).

::rereads that::

. . . Wow, I think we can safely colour my first impression unimpressive. For the sake of clinging to the last measly shreds of my dignity, I shall refrain from expounding upon my obsession with sheep (strictly hereditary, I assure you).

So yer. I make art, I write stories and poetry, I speak French, and I know enough X-Men: Evolution trivia to kill a horse. Other than that, I am fairly useless and should be trusted with precious little. I made this blog for entirely legitimate reasons (i.e. networking, expanding my career opportunities, because the cool kids are doing it, et cetera), and not at all because I have nothing better to do than ramble on and on about myself (well, clearly!).
